A wall in my living room. We saved the original newspaper/ wallpaper from the early 1800’s so that we could keep the history of the house alive. Some of time timber around the paper had been damaged from the factory walls that were placed over the timber in the 1970’s because of moisture not being able to be released. Rather than remove the damaged timber we chose to preserve it because of its history and rustic character. We tend to find beauty in this verses the sterile idea of beauty in modern culture.
